Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Tonite Gonzalez-Collins is a Mexican American reporter. She is currently a sportscaster for ESPN, working as an anchor of SportsCenter reports and hosts SportsNation. She started working at ESPN in the year of 2016. Her mother is the reporter for television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins speaks two languages and has been since the age of 9. This ability allowed her to land her first job with Univision, Miami. She could work with producers from across the country on programs like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. After this she was hired by her CBS subsidiary of St. Petersburg employed her as a reporter for sports. The journalist was employed with KNVO TV 48 Univision in Rio Grande Valley Texas. The stories she covered were about migration and trafficking of drugs across both Texas and Mexico. The station also frequently asked her to substitute for a sports and weather anchor. In the following, she anchored and also reported to Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was assigned more responsibility. She covered events like the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series, the Dallas Cowboys and the NBA Postseason and the finals of FC Dallas FC Dallas Stars. Also, she hosted on the regional Univision 23 sports show Accion Deportiva Extra. She was promoted as anchor of the sports segment for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. The anchor also worked in a similar position as Primer Impacto on UniMas Network in addition to Contacto Deportivo for its magazine show. Antonietta's parents are originally from Veracruz Mexico. The family moved into Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born on November 1985. She's more mature than her younger sister. In 1992 the family left Mexico in search of the US and moved to Miami. The couple divorced shortly after and her mother was remarried to one of the naval architects named Fabio Fajardo who died from kidney cancer in the year 2006. The couple remained there in Canton Ohio with her older sister over the summer, when she was approached for the opportunity of a job. Antonietta was a senior in high school with an idea of what she wanted her life to be like, travelled to Mount Union University to check whether it was a good fit for her. She was in love with the campus. It also gave her the college she had always wanted. She completed her schooling and received a scholarship to the University to pursue a degree in Media studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor and the manager of WRMU and WRMU, which she's a participant. They had a very close connection. Professor Mark Bergmann influenced her by his passion for journalism. Also, he deeply affected her.
