Aurora Aksnes (born June 15 1995, in Stavanger) is a Norwegian musician and vocalist. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15, 2015, it received a raving review from music blogs and the media. Half the World Away from Oasis was released by the group Oasis was recorded to accompany an advertisement for John Lewis, and Nature Boy is the Nat King Cole cover. Her name was also recognized from a post by Katy Perry where Perry endorsed the song Runaway. Make it a day to celebrate her birthday. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memory is of finding an instrument hidden in the attic of her home, then becoming enthralled by the sound it made. Jan Oystein Aksnes' parents May Britt Aksnes advised her to use music for the sake of personal development, and not to earn money or for as a hobby. They advised her to compose. She acknowledges Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen as well as Bjork as her main influences. She began performing the songs she wrote publicly after her mom suggested they can help other people, not gain acclaim for her work but to make those around them see the importance of their work and how they can affect the world. She started playing piano at age six and making music when she was 9 years old. The family members didn't know about her music until she reached 14. It was never a dream to be Aurora. Her only passion is writing music. Music to her is the best method of feeling anything.
